This technology integration support tool was prototyped in 2009-2010 by a team of nine graduate students enrolled in the Instructional Technology Immersion Program at George Mason University (GMU) to support research on Advanced Learning Technologies (ALT) for the Defense Acquisition University (DAU). The project was funded by the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) facilitated by Drs. Nada Dabbagh and Kevin Clark of GMUand Drs. Chris Hardy and Paul Alfieri of DAU.

The prototype received the 2010 Sloan-C Effective Practice Award and is patent-pending. The prototype has been customized to GMU’s e-learning and distance education initiatives in an effort to raise awareness of technology options and provide a tool for faculty and staff to refer to when making learning technology decisions.

The LATIST prototype was developed with assistance from Bean Creative and In-Brief Videos.
